The Emergency Care and Safety Institute - ECSI - is parterned with The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Emergency Physicians who provide exclusive oversight for ECSI materials. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) was the original provider of EMS education in the United States. The AAOS "orange book" was developed in 1971 as the original training curriculum for EMTs, bringing in the modern age of Emergency Medical Services. AAOS has been providing training materials for first responders, EMTs, and paramedics for years, and decided that they would like to bring their expertise to layperson training as well as to round out their entire program offerings. The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) has joined AAOS in this exclusive relationship. This partnership provides ECSI with two of the most widely respected names in medical education and patient treatment in the world.
